ADHD Coaching: Building a Life That Works With Your Brain
ADHD coaching provides practical support for turning intentions into action. Together, we look at where everyday life creates friction and develop realistic strategies that work with your attention, energy and executive functioning.

Knowing What to Do Isn't Always the Difficult Part
Most adults with ADHD already know what they “should” be doing.
You may understand how to organise a diary, prioritise a workload or create a routine — yet still find it difficult to translate those good intentions into consistent action.
That gap isn’t necessarily about knowledge, intelligence or how much you want something.
Sometimes the difficulty lies in starting, maintaining momentum, judging time or managing competing demands when your executive functioning is already stretched.
ADHD coaching works directly with that gap.
The aim isn’t to change who you are. It’s to make everyday life require less effort.

“Try Harder to Follow the System”
Traditional productivity advice often assumes that the difficulty is simply finding the right routine and sticking to it.
When that system becomes difficult to maintain, it can leave you feeling as though you have failed again.
“Let’s Build the System Around You”
Coaching starts somewhere different.
We look at where friction actually occurs in your work, home life or routines and develop practical structures around the way your attention and executive functioning operate.
If something doesn’t work, we change the strategy — not blame the person using it.
Practical ADHD Support
What Might We Work On?
Coaching is shaped around the parts of everyday life that are creating the most difficulty for you.
Starting & Finishing
Finding ways through task paralysis, breaking large projects into manageable steps and reducing reliance on last-minute urgency.
Time & Priorities
Making workloads more visible, estimating time more realistically and deciding what actually needs your attention first.
Routines & Overwhelm
Creating flexible systems for admin, home life and recurring tasks without expecting yourself to maintain rigid routines.
Work, Emotions & Recovery
Managing frustration and pressure, recognising when cognitive load is becoming too high and protecting enough time for rest and recovery.
Finding What Actually Works
We Experiment Together
There is no single system that works for every ADHD brain.
Instead, coaching is collaborative and iterative.
We identify the problem.
Where are you getting stuck and what is making the task difficult?
We try something practical.
Together, we develop a strategy that fits your needs and circumstances.
You test it in real life.
Not in an ideal week — in your actual home, workplace or routine.
We review and adapt.
We keep what helps, change what feels awkward and discard what doesn’t.
If a strategy doesn’t work, you haven’t failed.
It simply gives us more information about what your brain needs from the next approach.

Different Support for Different Needs
ADHD coaching is primarily practical. It focuses on everyday systems, workload, routines, accountability and helping you turn intentions into action.
Psychological therapy gives greater space to the emotional experiences surrounding ADHD — including anxiety, burnout, shame, perfectionism, identity or the impact of receiving a diagnosis later in life.
Sometimes one approach is clearly the better starting point. Sometimes both are useful at different stages.
As Consultant Clinical Psychologists, we can help you consider what would be most useful for you now and adapt the approach as your needs change.
Do I Need an ADHD Diagnosis?
No. You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to explore coaching.
You may already have a diagnosis and want help translating what you have learnt into everyday life. You may be waiting for assessment, or simply recognise executive functioning difficulties and want practical support now.
If formal assessment would be useful, we can also discuss appropriate pathways.
There is no fixed programme or required number of sessions. Coaching develops around your goals, responsibilities and changing needs.
The objective is simple: spend less energy fighting your brain, and more energy living your life.
