Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy

Finding Compassion for Your Mind

Therapy isn't about changing who you are. It can provide space to understand yourself with greater compassion, make sense of experiences that have been difficult to carry and find ways of living that work more naturally with your mind.

Sometimes the Hardest Part Isn't Executive Functioning

It is what you have come to believe about yourself along the way.

For many neurodivergent adults, difficulties with attention, sensory overwhelm, communication or everyday demands have been misunderstood for years.

Over time, those experiences can become deeply personal conclusions:

“I’m lazy.”
“I’m too sensitive.”
“I’m unreliable.”
“Everyone else manages. Why can’t I?”

Therapy gives us space to revisit those conclusions with a different understanding of your experiences.

What once looked like personal failure may make much more sense when viewed through a neurodivergent lens.

When Therapy Might Help

You Don't Need to Wait Until You're in Crisis

Therapy can provide support when something feels difficult to understand, carry or change.

Overwhelm & Burnout

Everyday life feels persistently exhausting, or years of managing demands and masking have left you running on empty.

Self-Criticism & Identity

You struggle with self-esteem, self-trust or a longstanding feeling that you should somehow be coping better.

Relationships & Emotions

Relationships feel difficult to navigate, or anxiety, low mood and emotional overwhelm are taking up increasing space.

Diagnosis & Self-Understanding

You are adjusting to a diagnosis, exploring your neurodivergent identity or want to understand your sensory, cognitive and emotional needs more clearly.

A Space Where You Can Be Yourself

There Is No Pressure to Mask Here

Many autistic and ADHD adults spend years carefully monitoring how they communicate, move, respond or interact in order to meet the expectations around them.

That constant self-monitoring can be exhausting.

Therapy should not become another environment in which you have to perform.

You are welcome to take time to process your thoughts, move if you need to, communicate plainly, ask for clarification or approach a conversation in whatever way feels most natural to you.

You do not need to make yourself easier for us to understand. Our role is to understand you.

How We Work

Therapy Tailored to How Your Mind Operates

There is no single therapeutic approach that works for every neurodivergent person. Drawing on our background in clinical psychology and neuropsychology, therapy can be adapted around your needs.

Compassion-Focused Therapy

Supporting a different relationship with shame, self-criticism and the threat responses that can accompany prolonged stress and burnout.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Exploring what matters to you, developing psychological flexibility and finding ways to live meaningfully alongside changing energy and capacity.

Neurodivergent-Adapted CBT

Exploring patterns of thoughts, emotions and behaviour while recognising genuine sensory, cognitive and executive functioning needs.

EMDR

Where appropriate, EMDR may help with difficult or traumatic past experiences, including experiences of invalidation or distress.

You Don't Need to Have Everything Figured Out

You may have received a diagnosis recently.

You may have understood yourself as neurodivergent for many years.

Or you may simply be beginning to wonder whether this way of understanding yourself makes sense.

You do not need to arrive with the answers.

Therapy can give you space to understand your experiences, recognise what you need and decide what you want life to look like from here.

Understanding Yourself with Greater Compassion

Our role is not to define who you are or push you towards a particular way of functioning.

It is to help you understand yourself with greater clarity and compassion, reduce unnecessary struggle and build a life that feels more manageable and authentically yours.

Perhaps the question can gradually change from: “What is wrong with me?” to: “What helps me live well as myself?”
